Prayer for faith
Father, please still my heart and quiet my mind.
How my soul needs to rest with you.
I confess that often my thoughts are scattered,
that my mind can feel overwhelmed with worry and endless demands.
I give all these concerns to you now.
In the stillness I become aware of my own beating heart,
and of the life you sustain within me and around me.
I notice my own breathing.
Thank you that with each passing breath you bring your gentle life-giving touch.
Thank you that I am a miracle of your design and I carry your Spirit within.
Lord, I declare that I believe in you. Thank you that your beloved Son is risen and alive forevermore!
Come fill my spirit afresh with new faith.
I lift my soul to praise you, and my heart rejoices as I come boldly before your throne.
Lead me as I pray for others, come inspire my thoughts as I intercede for those that are on my mind. Please guide me now by the power of your Holy Spirit as I bring these concerns before you.
Father, thank you that you are the Light of Lights, the great Power of all Powers and your Kingdom will know no end. How I worship, love and adore you.
Amen.

I need to give out so much more than I can give alone.
I need the strength that comes from you, Almighty graceful one.
I need the strength of wisdom, so that just like a tree, I can grow roots deep in you, that others do not see.
I need the strength of gentle peace, so that just like the sea, I can rise and fall each day and lead others gently onwards.
I need the strength of steady love so that just like wind, I can blow or hold my breath with patience deep and kind.
I need to give out much more than I can give alone.
I need the strength that comes from you, Almighty graceful one.
