coronavirus prayer
Julie Palmer from Prayerscapes leads us in a prayer for drawing close to God during this difficult time, with a prayer asking for God's provision, protection and hope. You may wish to use this on a daily basis during the coronavirus pandemic, and please do feel free to share it with friends and loved ones. We have also included below a petition for good health, a short prayer for safety and protection and links to prayers for healing of the sick.

Coronavirus Prayer
("The Good Shepherd")
Jesus, you are the Good Shepherd.
We confess our fears and ask for your protection.
Jesus, you are the Bread of Life.
We place before you our need of provision and ask for your blessing.
Lord, you are the Gate.
We confess our confusion and ask for you to guide us.
Lord, you are the True Vine.
We confess our failings and ask for your goodness to grow in our lives.
Jesus, you are the Light of the World.
We ask for your hope to burn in the darkness.
Lord, you are the Resurrection and the Life.
We ask for your grace to lift our eyes to eternity.
Jesus, you are the way, the truth and the life.
We draw ever near to you our Saviour and friend.
Amen.

Short prayer for safety
Keep me safe
                              Safe with you.
You surrounding me
                              And me sheltering beneath
                              Your mighty wings.
                              Save me today
                              And fill me with peace.
Amen.

Prayer for Good Health
Almighty God, please cover us.
Come enclose us now within your mighty care.
Thank you that your hand is upon our lives.
Gracious Father, please protect us.
Come be with us in every moment of our days.
Thank you that your grace is like a shield all around us.
Prince of Peace, please bless us.
Come keep our health in perfect balance.
Thank you for the gift of life. We are truly grateful.
O Holy One, please keep us.
Come and settle our minds with your peace.
Thank you that you free us from all fear.
Father, Son and Holy Spirit, please encircle us.
Come surround us with your strength and power.
Thank you that you are with us always.

Amen.

“Freedom in Grace” is a song of blessing and hope. It is a declaration of God’s love for the world, and an invitation to allow the Spirit of God to bring healing and restoration in our land (inspired by the words in Isaiah 40:3-5).

Freedom in Grace
Singing hope across the desert
Singing healing for the broken
Singing shelter for the lonely
Singing life across the ruins
Strength to lift the weary
Singing hope, singing life
Singing freedom in grace
Singing hope, singing life
Singing freedom in grace
And the people rose to pray, hearts awakening they knelt down low each day
Hands that couldn’t touch displayed, unity to build a deeper love again
And the valleys laid with grief, filling gentle streams of grace and empathy
And the mountains toil with fear, bowing low as voices join to intercede
Barren land felt gentle rain, growing soft to hold new seeds of hope again
From the ground such beauty came, rising up were Kingdom treasures free to reign
And the light shone in the dark, chasing shadows to reveal the Father’s heart
And the people rose to see, the Lord of heaven and all earth was now revealed
New springs of life so fresh and full
Soak tender shoots of Kingdom truth
And rocky places smooth to lead
Creating pathways, helping heal

(the prayer poem in the film above)
May the three enfold you
Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Hold you safe and hold you strong
May the three encompass you
                      Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Encircle your life each day and night
					  May the three protect you
                      Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Guard your door and keep each gate
May the three watch over you
                      Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Still your heart and calm all fear
