ripples
A creative reflection on the beautitudes in poetry, song & music.
Bring them all to me
Be my hands and feet
Be my words and deeds
Bring them all to me
You reveal God’s perfect ways when you abide in grace, for grace is like the deepest lake on the stillest day. Each pebble that you throw within this mirrored peaceful space, creates ripples, rings of love, small tides that travel, move and change. They reach out to those blessed ones, enfolded in God’s care. The weak, the wounded precious ones, responding to their silent prayers. Ripples warm with understanding touch the lonely, left behind. They bless the lost, the most abandoned, those the world has cast aside. They swirl to cover desperate grief, enfolding each with heavenly hope. Ripples of compassion, strong to lift the heaviest yoke.
For blessed are the poor in heart, blessed are the grieved, blessed are the very least, blessed are the ones who seek. Blessed are the hungry, blessed are the meek. Blessed are the simple hearts, blessed are those who carry peace. Blessed are the torn and downtrodden, blessed are the cursed. Christ alive in us, will be the water that they thirst.
This is why I lived
This is why I died
This is why I rose
This is Kingdom bright
This is promised land
This is truth and light
This is heavens touch
In my grace abide
So stay within this grace filled lake, and walk with Jesus as your guide. Take the pebbles that you hold, throw them in and you will find, a simple promise truly kept, some kindness unexpected, the ear that listens, the heart that forgives is each a pebble God’s spirit gives.
The smallest of our words and deeds send ripples of new life, rings of kingdom family, encircling, so strong and wide. So throw in your little pebble. Then watch and trust in God. He’ll use each ripple that you create to love and bless the lost.
Bring them all to me
Be my hands and feet
Be my words and deeds
Bring them all to me
Bring them here to heal
Bring them here to be
Held within my love
Bring them all to me
